A Unique Golfing Experience

Hole No.1 - Par 4

Good starting hole. Tee shot down the right hand side opens up the green. Six bunkers surround the green. Stunning view of sandy beach and surf.

Hole No.2 - Par 4

Straight tee shot required. Elevated green protected by bunkers and trees. Club selection for approach is important when wind is a factor. Avoid right hand bunker at all costs and check out Castle Rock in the background.

Hole No.3 - Par 5

Par 5 with slight dog leg left to right. Tee shot should be centre left to avoid large fairway bunker. Lake guards the green well as additional bunkering but ample room down the left hand side provides relief.

Hole No.4 - Par 4

Dog leg left to right following water. Tee shot required down the left to avoid bunkers and reload if ball goes into water. Caution with approach advisable.

Hole No.5 - Par 3

Great par 3 with water guarding right side. Green is long with an extensive lay-up area to the left.

Hole No.6 - Par 4

Straight tee shot important with out of bounds and river penalising wayward play. Approach into a long two-tiered green flanked by water to the right.

Hole No.7 - Par 3

Short par 3 but water left and some out of bounds right makes the hole harder than it looks. Caution required when the wind blows.

Hole No.8 - Par 4

Deceptive par 4 with short lay-up required off tee. Lakes guard approach into large green. This can be affected by wind.

Hole No.9 - Par 4

Dog-leg left to right with gum trees and out of bounds bordering left hand boundary. Large green with tight approach.

Hole No.10 - Par 5

Generous par 5 with out of bounds left of the tee and hazard to the right. Tee shot should be right to avoid trees with a narrowing fairway to a two-tiered green surrounded by native teetree and manuka.

Hole No.11 - Par 3

One of The Dunes signature holes with magnificent views of Whangapoua Harbour. Long Par 3 with a difficult tee shot to an elevated green surrounding by formidable bunkers.

Hole No.12 - Par 4

Short par 4 with a slight right to left dog-leg. Tee shot down the right hand side is advisable to a generous two-tiered green surrounded by bunkers.

Hole No.13 - Par 5

Off white tees and Par 4 championship tee. Slight dog-leg left to right with trees down the left and bunkers right. Blind approach makes the hole difficult but challenging.

Hole No.14 - Par 5

Long dog-leg par 5 with out of bounds down the left side. Second and third shots must stay down the left hand side to avoid the trees and have a shot at the long green

Hole No.15 - Par 4

Long par 4 right to left with extensive trees down the left side. Deceptive hole to a slightly elevated green sloping back to front.

Hole No.16 - Par 4

Dog-leg left to right with extensive trees down the left. True dog-leg with elevated green.

Hole No.17 - Par 5

Long par 5 with a straight tee shot required. Fairway narrows towards the green as approaches must be centre right to avoid being blocked out. Greenside bunker and lake behind protect the green.

Hole No.18 - Par 3

Par 3 finishing hole with undulating wide green and large riveted bunkers. Club selection important to avoid bunkers and out of bounds behind green.
